"Turns out Edward used to be real scary...and he's still a tough old man! He told me all about his fights during his time at Furness!"

  • Excitedly waves his arms to get Edward's attention, in order to show him something cool!

  • Always feels embarrassed with himself whenever Edward is disappointed in how stupid Thomas can be.

  • Tries his best to make the older man proud of him every day, but doesn’t know that Edward already is...and always has been.

"He's like a really cool uncle that'll slip you an extra sweet when your parents already said 'no'--though I don't think Henry would actually do that. Alright, so not that cool."

  • Tries not to worry, but there's always that lingering thought that Henry's going to get into a big accident again.

  • Willing to offer a shoulder to sleep on at the end of the day on the couch.

  • Sometimes asks to sleep with him on cold nights. Henry obliges.

"Sometimes I wish my engine were as cool and sleek as Gordon's. But thinking about how much trouble that hill gives him is fucking hilarious."

  • If he's not particularly busy, he'll ride along in Gordon's cab (much to his disdain) to feel the wind rushing past on the express.

  • Often steals Gordon's coat and wears it to feel cool.

  • Sometimes asks to sleep with him, because he wants to be on the top bunk. Gordon vehemently refuses.

"Irritating, but I love him just the way he is. Also a real stand-up guy if you can get past his scowl. He's a bitch though."

  • Enjoys their aggressive, yet friendly, rivalry and greatly respects James' self-assuredness.

  • Consistently teases him about past incidents, Thomas' favourite being the leather bootlace.

  • Incredibly affectionate (both physically and verbally), always telling James how much he loves his friend.

"Percy's such a loveable guy, how could you hate him? Well, sometimes he gets under my skin, but what are friends for? Also his dad makes the best chowder, I swear."

  • Occasionally tags along with Percy around Sodor to find cool stuff, and is always impressed by how observant his friend is.

  • Frequents Percy's house just for his parents' superb cooking, and takes home the leftovers for Gordon and Henry.

  • They have a shared coin collection that's kept in a padlocked sunset orange box labelled 'TOUCH THIS AND WE WILL TELL HENRY'.

Thoughts On...

"That man gets tiring sometimes, but he's a wonderful little personality. And after so many years, he still needs my guidance!"

  • Helps keeps Thomas in check, diffusing any arguments he's gotten into and scolding him about it thereafter.

  • Strangely feels a deep sense of pride with Thomas, like a parent.

  • Has asked him how he stays so youthful and doesn't feel old, but Thomas just winks and smiles.
